andersonrs45 3 Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Is it possible to back up users in conjunction with EmbyConnect accounts on a new operating system? I researched the topics on the subject, but found nothing related. Is it possible to back up users in conjunction with EmbyConnect accounts on a new operating system? Or will I have to confirm the emails again, user by userIs it possible to back up users in conjunction with EmbyConnect accounts on a new operating system? Luke 42080 Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Hi, currently you'd have to invite them again. This is an improvement we'd like to make to the backup plugin in the future. thanks.
jack1574 2 Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 I am about to change operating systems, unfortunately there is no upgrade path for my OS at all. I will be forced to backup and reinstall everything. If i backup the entire emby folder will that carry across all the user accounts?

As each OS have there own installers.

The computer currently runs windows home server 2011 which is based on windows 7. Thanks to Microsoft it can not be upgraded to windows 10, nor server 2012 2016 or 2019. aside from the support issues my main gripe is the 8gb of ram max limitation. so have bit the bullet and purchased server 2019 standard edition. Have been using emby backup plugin for years and as far as i know it only backs up one account. I share media with around 10 family and friends, it would be so much easier if i can transport my existing settings to the new operating system.

From a Windows standpoint migrating the Emby-Server folder should not be a issue. Depending on how old the install is there maybe database quicks as portability has been added over time. Media paths maybe a issue also on your new setup.
