Emby for Kodi only sync certain nodes?

Is there a way to sync certain nodes/libraries rather than all of them?

Create a new Emby user and just allow the access to your wanted libraries/nodes.

Thanks, this is helpful. One follow-up question - it seems that in-progress movies are user-specific. Is there a way to make in-progress movies available to other users?

No. But you can add permanent additional users to the session. This way, they will share new watch status and in progress with those other emby users.

In the addon settings > extras I believe. You can add their user name ie user1,user2...

Thanks, I had just figured this out! I should explore first, then ask questions.

It's all good :)

Permanent users, when the session is initiated, the user will automatically be added for you. You'll also find add/remove users from the session via launching the add-on. That option allows you to add-remove users for THIS current session.

Okay, I think I do have a real question now. Is there a way to do this for, say, the native Emby client on Android? For example, if I were to start a movie on my tablet using the Android client and wanted to pickup on Kodi?

So you mean, transfer the playing stream to Kodi? Or do you simply mean, stop playback, and pick it up on Kodi?

As long as the main user or additional users on Android, is the same user used in Kodi (main user), then the in progress should update when you stop playback on Android.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was referring to an instance where I'm viewing a movie on my Android tablet with a different user than the Emby for Kodi Client.

Ok. On your Android tablet then you'd have to add as additional user the Emby for Kodi user. So when you watch stuff on Android, it will share watch status with the Emby for Kodi user. Does this make sense? :)

Will there ever be an easy way to add remove additional users for Emby apps? For example, in the web client remote control or something?

Yes I would like to, just haven't gotten to it yet.

Ug, I know you're not the Android dev, but how does one add an additional user to the Android client? I have created a new user in the server dashboard.

Yes I realize as I said that, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do that yet. :(

Anyway, why did you want to have less library synced in Kodi? Was there an issue you encountered or?

Not really. Long story short, I use a Kodi skin that displays fanart as a background, and it ends up pulling in fanart from all my movie libraries when I don't want it to. So, I started toying around with possibly using a different user for my TV that didn't sync every single library, to avoid this happening.

I see, seems like a major workaround for a skin tweak.

Yeah. Never ever up doing it!
