Chickenlal 0 Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Hey, I just bought a Qnap TS-420 from some one and I'm struggling to get everything going. After installing Qmono 5.10 (I can't find an older version for x19) and Emby 3.3.0.0 I can't get it running Every time I want to update, download meta data, get emby premiere I get a DNS Error: "NameResolutionFailure" I have the same problem with Sonarr, I don't know what's the problem... Is it something Mono related or ?? DNS is working fine on the NAS as I can ping to websites when I SSH into Regards
Chickenlal 0 Posted April 28, 2018 Author Posted April 28, 2018 Honestly I'm not sure lol... Trying to find where I can see... It has a cpu: Marvell 1.6GHz Only the x19 arm packages are working for installation, x64 packages not.
Luke 42077 Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Can you please attach the emby server log? thanks.
Chickenlal 0 Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 (edited) Hi 2 logs found in attach edit: must be something Mono related I think because Sonarr has the same problem. But I can't find an older Mono version for ARM x19 Log1.txt Log2.txt Edited April 29, 2018 by Chickenlal
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 For - info the TS-420 is a very old discontinued model and (EOL) by QNAP - have you updated the firmware to latest issued for you model 4.3.3.0514 its also very underpowered - i have a 412 which is similar - single core cpu its x86 not x64 I think i got Emby working on mine last year as a test - it did work but it was slow there is a older version of qmono 5.4 here under older versions which might help https://qnapclub.eu/en/qpkg/193
Chickenlal 0 Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 Thanks! Yea I might've bought the wrong NAS Didn't do enough research I guess... I'm thinking about selling it again and building something myself for Emby and usenet downloads
tedr56 0 Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 (edited) Hi.I'm also using this nas device and have the same error. Affecting Emby account linking and application/plugins update. Would that be related to Mono version? 5.12.0.266 at the moment. How can I investigate more with this? https://gist.github.com/tedr56/7036f666f6f00b7f3398925448f280dd Thanks Edited July 2, 2018 by tedr56
tedr56 0 Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Just tried the only other arm available version. 5.4.1.6.0Still the same error.
Luke 42077 Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 That looks like you need to configure the network connection as all outgoing communications are failing.
tedr56 0 Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 The Nas has access to Internet but seems to have trouble with ssl A simple wget on https give me this. Resolving pypi.python.org... 151.101.120.223, 2a04:4e42:1d::223Connecting to pypi.python.org|151.101.120.223|:443... connected.OpenSSL: error:1409442E:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert protocol versionUnable to establish SSL connection. Seems to get closer.
Luke 42077 Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Yea I think if you solve that first outside of emby then it will work fine. Please let us know how you get on. Thanks.
tedr56 0 Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 I managed to get wget working with Entware "opkg install wget". But I can't tell how to get emby working.

This error is because the QTS BusyBox 'wget' can't handle SSL. With regard to the reported issue in the OP, just found this, but not sure if it's the same thing. Edited July 3, 2018 by OneCD
