O i see so thats how you control another device with emby, it never dawned on me to use the cast function to my pi from my droid, i thought when you cast that it had to run the content from the device to the tv.

As a side note the way i did parental control is my account and my wife's account are password protected ( and pin when on local network ) the kids profile does not have a password, or delete permissions lol.

I have a mi box 3 setup in my 7yo's room and she is very proficient using it now. She even knows how to force restart emby and hit playback correction if one of her recordings is acting up. 

as far as scaring the wife or kids while they are home... hmm well i have nothing better to do right now seems all the firewalls i monitor are behaving.
