Download Missing Images

I was wondering if there was a way to have Emby periodically download missing artwork/episode thumbs, similar to how there is a automatic refresh of metadata every 30/60/90 days option.

 

I had originally thought that this auto refresh of metadata would include images, but it appears that it doesn't (unless my system is not performing as intended). I run into situations where every couple days, new episode thumbs will not download (I had previously opened a thread here, but it seems that something on my system is a little weird), so I'd like to have emby auto refresh that, if possible.

Thanks Luke - so if I'm understanding correctly, the auto refresh of metadata is supposed to also download missing images?

 

If that is the case, it is not working on my system, and i'll try and get a log of this failing. When I manually refresh metadata, and click the radio button to replace existing images, the refresh works and downloads all images (including missing images). Is there a way to 'manually' kick off the auto refresh so that I can catch this in a log?

Please discuss an example and attach the information requested in how to report a problem. 

 

To refresh something manually, just click the 3-dot menu -> refresh metadata.

Luke, thanks for getting back to me, although I don't think I was very clear in my previous post.

 

The manual refresh works as intended (so long as I click the radio button to replace existing images), as that downloads the missing images (thumbnails, logos, etc.). What isn't working is the automatic refresh, and since I don't have any insight as to when this automated refresh is actually run, I'm not sure the best way to get a log to show what is going on.

 

I know that the automated refresh isn't including images, since I have shows that are 6+ months old with missing images that are not being downloaded unless I do a manual refresh.

 

Do you know how I can find out when the automated refresh runs (ie does it run at midnight every day, etc.) so that I can try to find a log of this happening?

The automated refresh is embedded into the normal library scan. As it goes through each item it checks if a full refresh should be done based upon the settings and dates.
