I am trying to setup codec intros but I'm starting with a generic setup that just plays one file.  My intro is a lossless .mkv file, and it plays fine in WMP.  I named it h264.mkv but emby seems to freeze when it comes time to play the video.  I suspect it isn't the internet trailer freezing because I have disabled this feature.  All of my movies are either .wtv, or .mkv files so how can I name my codec video intro, and what file extension does it need to have in order to play correctly in EMC?  Thanks.

I tried this on the web app as well, and emby plays both my video intro, and my one codec intro mkv file BUT it doesn't proceed to playing my file.  So to summarize, in EMC my video intro plays but it freezes when the codec intro tries to play.  In EWA, the intro video, and codec intro play but the movie doesn't.  My intro video is .mp4, and the codec intro is .mkv.  I can provide logs if needed.

Take a look at this. See if it helps.

I looked at that but it doesn't explain my crashes. Some of my mkvs have the h264 logo. What would emby choose if two codecs are in file? Would it play both?

Can you post a screenshot of how you have them stored?

And what app(s) are you testing, with?

Web app and wmc. Web app plays my intro and codec video but doesn't go onto the movie. Wmc plays my intro video but freezes before the codec video starts

And if you disable cinema mode, everything is fine?

With cinema mode disabled, EMC works mostly right.  I tried making that same codec video my normal intro video, and it freezes EMC.  This codec video is in .mkv format, and it is a full sized dolby 7.1 promo type video.  With a normal .mp4 intro I don't get the same behavior.

 Can you share that video?

Wait a sec.  I viewed the video's properties and I just saw that it was blocked.  Let me give this another run.

Unblocking it didn't change anything.

In that case this sounds like your issue is in the WMC video player. I don't think there's anything we're going to be able to do about this.

Just in case I might be wrong, if you could attach the EMC log then @@ebr can review. Thanks.

I think I'll try a new file. Maybe I have to unblock it before I add it. The file plays fine in wmp.

WMP Plays it but WMC won't for whatever reason.  Where can I get high quality codec intro videos that work?  I'm looking for something with seven channel surround.

Do you use Emby for WMC?

No, but it's another source, for you to try. You may want to consider using Theater desktop

I downloaded a file off of your site and it plays fine. I'm guessing there is something wierd with lossless audio on my system. What conditions can I name my file by? I tried movie but the file doesn't play I. E. It skips right past it

One of those is 32bit and the other not.

Make sure you have codecs installed for both.

The 32bit install is optional so you have to be sure you select it.

Make folders and put the videos, in. The server will choose the folder and randomly play a video inside it. How I have my folders..

But truehd doesn't appear to be working, as I just discovered.
