Questions about server sharing and Premier

I've been using the standard free version of Emby for some time now, but recently a few of my friends have been wanting to chip in together on a lifetime Emby Premier sub (or multiple) to consolidate our media libraries. My main question is- can we use one Emby library to connect multiple file host locations (no more than one per user, as everyone has their own media) and have them consolidated into one library? Or will we need to shuttle the files to one user's PC as the singular host? Also what is the minimum number of lifetime subscriptions required for this scenario? Thanks in advance!

Your library sharing plans are illegal everywhere with internet access FYI.

There is no native support for consolidating these separate libraries.  You'd either need to pay for cloud storage or establish a network incorporating the sites.

Oh wow, I had no idea. I was simply looking for clarification on the capabilities of the subscription. Thanks for the information.

As for a technical response (legalities aside on what is legal and what isn't, because I don't know what country you are in, nor do I want to know, and the laws in your country may allow this behaviour or they may not...and as far as I'm aware, your media libraries could be all home videos of your favorite pranks...I don't really want to know what it is).

Your media can be stored in various locations, it does not all have to be on one machine.  That being said, the "server" portion (where the server application resides), does need to be able to access all file locations.  Whether that is on the same network, remote locations via a vpn, on one of the supported cloud folders, it doesn't really matter, and yes, Emby would then pull them all in to one or as many libraries as you like, depending on how you set it up.

As to lifetime subscriptions, all subscriptions are limited by device, not user...however the license terms are fairly clear that it is for one household.  For the devices, if you give 5 friends access to the server, and they each have 2 devices, I doubt you'll have any problems.  The definition of a household is fairly clear in that you would all be living together, but that is not something Emby can monitor, as they do not track logins to your server.
