lujo 0 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) Hi, I am using Windows 8.1 Pro and didn't installed MB3 service but using it with tray icon. I mean the service is installed but not started. First example when MB3 server is working: When I go to Apps in Windows 8.1 click right on MB3 Server and select Run as Administrator MB3 server is starting and working without problem. Restarting it with tray icon or from dashboard is also no problem. Example when MB3 server is not working: When I only click on MB3 Server I can also see tray icon but dashbord is not working: http://localhost:8096/mediabrowser/dashboard/dashboard.html gives message that this page cannot be viewed.. My default accountname, Lujo, is also Administrator. logs.zip Edited March 24, 2014 by lujo
lujo 0 Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) It is a standard pop-up window that I get when I try to start MB3 or any other application (UserAccountControl). Onbekend = Unknown Harde schijf op deze computer = Hard drive on this computer Programmanaam: Application name Gecontroleerde uitgever: Controlled Publisher Programmalokatie: Application Location Is this helping? Luke 42078 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 the logs would help but you posted a zip of about 15 logs. can you just post a single one unzipped that i should look at? thanks.
lujo 0 Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 I have added two logs. One when I am starting Server with one click and other when I start Server with Run as Administrator. One click - server-63531266645.log Run as Administrator - server-63531266782.log
ebr 16177 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 A local account marked as admin doesn't necessarily mean you have full control. Try turning off UAC.
lujo 0 Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 That is strange because my normal account is also Administrator. Service is tied to Local System Account. Is there anything that I can try?
lujo 0 Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 Just to add this: Server as service is working fine.
lujo 0 Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) After turning UAC off server still doesn't work. The only option what was helping in my case was to go to C:\Users\Lujo\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Media Browser 3 select Media Browser Server.exe (right mouse button) and select Run as Administrator. Is it possible to add that Server Always run as a Administrator? So it is not needed that user select this. Edited March 24, 2014 by lujo
ebr 16177 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Looks like your normal user doesn't have authority to start our http server. When you run as admin (or as the service which is tied to the admin account I assume) it doesn't have this problem.
