Trnascoding HEVC with Hight Bitrate

Hi All,

 

I'm trying to play a 4K  video with an Hight biterate but Its alawys transcode with that in th log :

Bitrate exceeds DirectStream limit: media bitrate: 58526309, max bitrate: 21000000

 

 

Here is the info of the file :

any idea why Android TV emby client transcode this file ?

Hi, that is the reason. Check the quality setting that you've configured inside the app. Please let us know if this helps.

Yes.  It looks like it is on auto.  You can try setting it higher but, be aware, higher bitrates may or may not play back smoothly.

Sorry for the delay.

I increase the bitrate and it work.

 

Why in the auto mode the client doesn't use the correct bitrate (the video bitrate)?

Auto will either test your network connection (if remote) or use a known-good bitrate max for the device to ensure good playback.
