lightsout 156 Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 I recently bought a Samsung smart TV and have been living having Emby built in. I am considering a second TV and was curious what Emby app is considered the most mature for smart TV OS's? There are a variety of platforms for different TVs. Roku, Google, Samsung, etc. Anyone recommend a certain platform? The Samsung app is excellent but still has some kinks being worked out overall.
mastrmind11 722 Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 (edited) Android TV, preferably on a stand alone box (nVidia Shield is a huge winner), is near perfection. Though I do have a Sony XBR w/ AndroidTV built in and have a hard time finding faults with that one either (though admittedly I use it far less than the Shields. Edited April 18, 2018 by mastrmind11

I kind of didn't love Android TV but I think it was partially due to the limited horsepower of the device I have. It's being used in my daughter's room I'll have to give it another go through and compare it to my current setup, thank you.
dcook 299 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Been using Roku now for 2 years and its worked perfectly. Its very easy for kids to use as its similar to Netflix
