So i guess you're probably using our older install package from OBS right?

Hi

I am not sure , how do I tell that? I thought I downloaded the deb package (the latest release) from the download page.

I have a working emby-server 3.3.1.0+68.2 version, I just wanted to try the latest beta.

Can you attach a startup server log from your stable install? thanks.

Ok yes that's our old install package. Switching to our newer one is recommended but will require a complete uninstallation and purge. And in your case it looks like you will also need systemd.

Do you also mean purging the database etc too? OR do you mean just the install files?

Purge as in the uninstall purge command, and yes that will wipe that folder i'm pretty sure. However, if you want to try just installing the new package you can. Depending on the age of your old installation it might just work. But it also might cause some problems so you may want to back up the program data directory.

Can I just use instead Emby.Mono.zip if I do not care about setting it up a a service?

No, but you could use our netcore zip however we don't really have a process documented for you to do that, so you're going to end up with a lot of trial and error.
