Heckler 147 Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Hi folks, I've just built a new media server to run the MBS and MBC software... I did a build thread on that elsewhere. However, I am coming across a few little issues. I did a fresh build of the server. Transferred nothing over from the old one. I'm aware that there is a new build that's installed as I've seen some nice new touches... Like the new video playback window in the browser/dashboard (very nice touch... any chance of having it as a pop out ) So I'm running the latest release build of both MBS and MBC, and when looking in people and suggested lists, I sometimes see the red warning in the top left corner of something. This is showing up on 4 episodes of Grim (not just the one visible in the pic)... and dozens of people. I do not understand what this is indicating. These episodes and people all seem to have the correct metadata and images, so whats with the warning? I'll be creating another post regarding problems with metadata, particularly on music items.. So I'll skip that here. As for the people images, after leaving it to run all it's scans yesterday, which took many, many hours... Some 90% of people images are still missing. The old build I had and was using just a few days ago, was extremely well populated with people images, so I'm wondering why it's not grabbing them anymore. Finally... has there been some change in where the local storage for episode images are placed. I've been finding some in the season folders with the same filename and 'thumb' tagged on in amongst the episodes rather than them being in the metadata folder as it's always been. Is this supposed to happen, or just some odd behaviour? Any help would be most appreciated
Solution Luke 42078 Posted March 23, 2014 Solution Posted March 23, 2014 The indicators just mean something went wrong with metadata. we don't have further reporting on it yet so you'd have to check the server log. usually it means something failed to identify. it can also mean something just failed, in which case refreshing it again might make it go away. you can change to the classic episode image saving convention by changing your image saving convention setting in the metadata area. 1
Heckler 147 Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 Cheers @@Luke figures it was something simple... Manually refreshing each one did the trick, as a scan wasn't. Any ideas on the second part, regarding people images not being downloaded?
Luke 42078 Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 No. that percentage of images downloaded looks about right to me. you'd have to review your log.
Heckler 147 Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 @@Luke I've been through the people more thoroughly and it's not about right. It's not even picking up lead actors like Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, yet it's picking up relatively unknowns. About 15-20% of them have the warning icon, but attempting to refresh these manually does not do anything like it does for the episodes that had it... With around 17000 people in the database, that's a lot of errors. Far too many for me to deal with manually. Last people scan ran this morning and too just under 4hrs.
