Had the system set up and running fine for a few years and was working fine last time i watched recorded tv a few weeks ago. i am currently getting this error message when trying to play back recorded TV

"No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details"

All other videos and music play back fine. i am using serverWMC on a different computer to the server for the Live TV, which works fine, but it just wont play any of the recorded files.

I have reset the server and reset the computer it runs on but it doesn't fix it.

Thanks

Adam

Hi, is this an in-progress recording?

Posted

No, they are ones that are record already (minutes or days ago).

tested this just now. live TV works fine and when i hit record it will play for a few more seconds then stop the live playback. if i try and play the file through EMBY i get the same issue, the file plays fine on my windows 7 WMC computer it records on.

So it's happening outside of emby too?

No, outside EMBY everything works fine. EMBY wont play back any of the recorded files. i use Chrome (also tried Edge) to access it, Android EMBY app and windows phone emby app. all ways wont play back recorded tv.

Just uninstalled and reinstalled the server, still wont play the recorded TV files through EMBY. i did a clean install and then tried restoring from a backup, neither worked.

I have just tried manually adding the folder to the library. i added the folder as Home video and photos. when i opened the file through this folder in the library all the files play through EMBY.

So it appears the recorded files won't play when i try and play then through the Live TV area, but will play when opened through a library folder.

(edited to fix my poor english)

Thanks, we're looking into this, but yes as you've figured out, adding the recording folder as an emby library will work just fine. Thanks.

I have a somewhat similar problem, but I don’t see anywhere else to post it. I have 1 channel on my OTA card that will not play. It gives me the same message. No compatible streams are available. Please try again later or contact your administrator. I have a Haupaugge Quad tuner with a antenna I did for Plex. I have WinTV 8.5 installed and I can play the channel without any issues. I can play and record from all other channels. It is just this one and of course it is one I want to watch.

@@cmatthews27320, is this with the server wmc plugin?

No, I don’t use that plugin. I use Plex, cover art, database backup and auto box sets. Now I just let Windows do an update and now it has started working. I tested it yesterday and it recorded successfully and played back successfully.

Thanks for the feedback.

Any movement on fixing this problem?

I believe (but not positive), that the ServerWMC plugin developer has issued an update to resolve this. In order to get the plugin update you will first need to update to the latest version of Emby Server. Thanks.

Thanks, i am trying the new one (1255) but doesn't look like it works properly...

Please make sure to provide enough information for the server wmc developer to be able to help you. Thanks.
