FR: MBT - WMC Integration

Hello,

Instead of selecting WMC Integration plugin in WMC and clicking on it to close WMC and open MediaBrowser Theater is it possible that user gets the option to give some button possibility for fast access to MediaBrowser Theater.

Example:

Pressing "DVD Menu" on MCE remote will result in closing/minimizing MCE and open MediaBrowser Theater.

"DVD Menu" is only example, user should be able to decide which button he/she will use and how many times.

Button = #

Amount = 2

Time = 5

When # is pressed 2 times in timeframe of 5 second MCE will be closed/minimized and Media Browser Theater will be opened.

Or pressing and holding one button for couple seconds should result in opening Meda Browser Theater.

When are in WMC, that program is in control of what your remote control does (as it should be).  I don't think it would be a good practice for our program to wrench control of your remote (or keypresses or any other input device) from the one that should have it.

So, I think any such hotkey functionality should be handled by an external entity.  I think there are plenty of hotkey type solutions you could use to do this.

EventGhost would allow you to do that.  http://www.eventghost.org/  I used to use it to quickly go from WMC(LiveTV) to XBMC(Movies) and back with a button press.

The way I've been doing it is start MBT at boot up. Programmed a button on the remote to start up WMC in live tv mode and another to exit (alt +f4) which brings me back to MBT. It has been working flawlessly for the last 3-4 weeks. My remote is a harmony one. Not sure if it can be done with other remotes.
