All of your installed plugins will increase resource consumption. I would start by removing them.

why does it keep increasing though ?, every time some plays something RAM usage goes up. same if a recording starts, it never comes back down. it then get to the point where emby server locks up and I have restart the docker.

edit:

I have removed all plugins I'll restart soon as emby is free of users.

Well i haven't seen this occur myself but you could also try disabling dlna features, and all debug logging.

You could also try a non docker installation and see how that compares.

you don't have a DOTNET version for synology yet :(, and mono is too buggy I've tried it, (not just emby it is mono it self), mono on synology is slow and buggy crashes a lot.

Well that clearly doesn't add up.  Can you drop to shell and run top?

still going up!!!, 20GB in just 2 days, something definitely wrong here ???, I can't see how emby can run on most low power NAS, those surely don't have 20Gb of ram ??

Please be aware we haven't tested the docker package on synology. I would try the mono based package, its' been fine tuned pretty well.

@@Luke, tried it, it is worse, it slow, eats CPU, and crashes all the time, no where near stable as the docker image, that why I am running it. MONO on syno is awful, it not just emby.

and when it crashes you have restart the full NAS, that not an option for me.

this morning I woke to it having reduced RAM.

limiting the Docker resources to 10Gb RAM, seems to have helped allot. it now seem to free the RAM once 10Gb is reached, so all I can think of it is a CACHING issue.
