graphixmaker 2 Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 I’ve been using Emby on Kodi for a couple of years now and I use the live tv in the add on from time to time. It’s been a week or two, and tonight I selected live tv from the favorites menu in Kodi and when I selected a channel I received an error. So I went directly to the addon and the Live TV isn’t even listed. Was there some sort of change made? I recently changed from the mono version to .net core and it’s been great. I can’t remember if I’ve watched live tv since the switch. It I’m assuming that has nothing to do with it.
Angelblue05 4132 Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Live TV experimental was removed from Emby for Kodi with 3.0.x. I had to revamp playback entirely and dropped that feature as it was never meant to be part of the add-on. We'll just have to wait until a Kodi plugin is made to support live tv for emby in it's entirety.
graphixmaker 2 Posted April 5, 2018 Author Posted April 5, 2018 Oh man the wife is going to be pissed. I had it completely integrated with EPG and everything so it was seamless. Should I attempt to downgrade?
sualfred 677 Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Before you downgrade you should consider setting up a own PVR backend for Kodi. Higher WAF, less pissed wife. https://kodi.wiki/view/PVR 1
graphixmaker 2 Posted April 6, 2018 Author Posted April 6, 2018 Before you downgrade you should consider setting up a own PVR backend for Kodi. Higher WAF, less pissed wife. https://kodi.wiki/view/PVR Unfortunately it's not that easy. My server is hosted remotely, with live tv provided by both iptv and a HD homerun in a second remote location. I could use a PVR backend for just the iptv, but then I'd have to work something out for the HD homerun that's remote. It's easy with the emby server because I have a static IP and don't have to worry about dyndns or anything with the current networking voodoo I have going on. I had figured out how to route emby's live tv through the iptv simple client so all of the emby streams were my PVR backend seamlessly. It looks like I might have to go back to the drawing board...
