jakburn2029 0 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Hello People, First post, bare with me And hope this makes sense to someone . Bit of Background: I'm running Nvidia Shield tv (2017) with a four bay JBOD, Now I appreciate that the shield is not meant to be turned off, just put to sleep, which in itself is not a problem, the problem is that the jbod won't sleep with the shield, (jbod has noisy fan), due to usb power not being turned off at shield. All metadata, covers etc saved in concurrent movie folder on jbod. All movies and folders named correctly. So after I did the shield dance of unmounting the four drives and turning of the shield, this naturally turned of the jbod. Great. I turn on the shield the following morning and horror! All the movie covers are a solid coloured block! So I do a rescan of the library, all the movie covers come back to normal, except where I used custom cover, they went to default. Questions: Why does emby do this? Am I storing the metadata in the best place? If I upgrade to NAS, will I face the same problem? Current solution is to pull the fan plug and leave the jbod on when the shield sleeps, although this is not the best solution. Thanx for reading J
ebr 16199 Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Hi. Are you talking about running the beta version of our Server on your Shield?
jakburn2029 0 Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 Hi ebr, It's the version that would be from play store, Version 1.5.32g, Apologies, not that software savy in me old age . J
jakburn2029 0 Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 Hi ebr, I get ya, The server is running on my laptop, Version 3.3.1.0 The laptop is running win 8.1, and is on 24/7, excluding reboots for updates, say, once a month. cheers J
Luke 42089 Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Right because the Nas is where we get the image files from. There is an image cache on both server and client but it only caches what has already been requested. We may need to do some additional testing with this app to make sure the cache is utilized.
jakburn2029 0 Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 Hi ebr & Luke, Thanx for your Assistance, Much Appreciated. I will be Sticking with Emby and good luck. J
