nissl 0 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Hi folks, since I upgraded to emby 3.3.1.0 I'm facing several issues with playback and availability, I hope you people are able to help me. I'm getting quite desperate now... My issues: - Playback won't start infrequent, no matter if started from computer with the brower or with the phone and either LG TV or Chromecast. (this i try to verify still) - Playback runs, but next episode won't start - Emby "app" on the TV stops. - Webinterface (specially) the Abndroid App (latest version from Play Store) won't load the content at all. Sometimes it helps killing the app and start over. I hope the attached logs might help to solve some of the points I mentioned. Before I suspected my Ubuntu server to be corrupt or something, and i reinstalled it from scratch. Emby Server is running on Ubuntu 17.10 (GNU/Linux 4.13.0-37-generic x86_64) in a ESXi Virtual Guest with 4GB RAM and 4vCPU. Please let me know if you need more input. Thanks for your reply. Regards emby.log
jscoys 147 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Hum i think for this version Emby server ran into troubles of server becoming unresponsive. @@Luke can you confirm? It seems it’s fixed in the last beta version. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
nissl 0 Posted March 31, 2018 Author Posted March 31, 2018 (edited) in the second log i probably have a record of the recent crash. Emby just stopped playback to the Chromecast. Also, when i checked the logs i wondering about the extremely high pings the computers have between each other. It is a LAN, thats really unusual. :-/ Edited March 31, 2018 by nissl
Luke 42078 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Can you please attach the complete emby server log? this is only a snippet. thanks.
Luke 42078 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 The unsupported protocol error in this log suggests you are trying to connect via https to the http port or vice versa.
Gerrit507 24 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 (edited) I would also recommend you to upgrade to the latest beta or downgrade to an older version. I saw the issues, which were caused by program crashes on the recent versions. These issues seem to be fixed now with the version 3.3.1.8... edit: I also had issues specifically with https, where the access over it was completely unavailable and only http worked. Maybe you have the same issue... Edited March 31, 2018 by Gerrit507
nissl 0 Posted March 31, 2018 Author Posted March 31, 2018 The unsupported protocol error in this log suggests you are trying to connect via https to the http port or vice versa. Hm, yes i use HTTPS and forwarded the same port as set to the server. Do you think there could be an issue ? The thing is, within the local network i use the HTTP connection with the local hostname, so this should also not be a problem. @Gerrit507: Thank you, i going to try it the next days
Luke 42078 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Try ip address. Chromecast does not support resolving local host names.
nissl 0 Posted April 6, 2018 Author Posted April 6, 2018 (edited) Ok i somehow resolved the playback issue with one or more of the following changes. - Upgrade to Ubuntu 18 - Installation of the latest Emby Beta - cleaned up ffmpeg and libs from the system (using only the packaged ones from the emby package) Now im experiencing a "new" issue. I can no longer Playback with the Emby Android app. Serverprofile is created via Internet IP. With the Browser i have no problem. Log attached Thanks for looking in it edit: sorry i forgot to mention. The error message on the phone/in the app is "Currently no compatible streams available" since only the app is affected and it works in the browser (also on the phne) i suspect the app to be broken with the server version. log.txt Edited April 6, 2018 by nissl
Luke 42078 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 It's something related to your ssl cert. What kind of cert are you using? It should with over http.
