ebr 16169 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Hi. Other than the blog announcements, there isn't a specific one for this app right now. There hasn't been a new release in a while though. What, specifically, are you looking for?
roberto188 33 Posted March 31, 2018 Author Posted March 31, 2018 Looking to see if the Roku app will properly identify streaming capabilities for various devices and maybe allow higher bitrate for 720p streaming. In fact, I could write the code for the capabilities of all the Roku devices if you needed help.
Luke 42077 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 This is a very broad question. Do you have an open topic of a specific problem that needs resolving?
roberto188 33 Posted March 31, 2018 Author Posted March 31, 2018 Yes. As listed in my other posts there are things like the Roku TV and Streaming stick that are incorrectly transcoding or not transcoding when they should because the reported capabilities are wrong/incomplete.
Luke 42077 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Can you link to one of those? I had suggested you try forcing direct play as a test, did you do that?
roberto188 33 Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57322-streaming-stick/&do=findComment&comment=559939 Direct play doesn't help. I'm trying to get live TV to play 60 fps on streaming stixk which is more than capable to handle 60fpa but app obky reports 30.
roberto188 33 Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 Rokus can't decode mpeg2. So trying to direct stream mpeg2 TV stations to a Roku "doesn't help". The Roku can't play them.
roberto188 33 Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 Basically we need the Roku app to recognize that the streaming stick can handle 60fps.
Luke 42077 Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Have you provided an example of a problem somewhere along with the information requested in how to report a media playback issue? If yes then please link to that. Thanks.
roberto188 33 Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 Yes, see here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/56657-roku-app-reporting-wrong-capabilities/ Transcode logs showing that both Roku TV and Roku Streaming stick are reporting 30fps as their Max Frame rate.
Luke 42077 Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Ok, since you already have an open topic about it, let's limit the discussion to that thread. thanks.
