Limit Chromecast Devices

Quick questions,

Is there a way I can limit how many Chromecast devices show up as available to cast to? I have way to many devices and my list has become very long and hard to find the exact one that I need. I only have 3 Chromecast Video Devices and about 9 Chromecast Audio plus 6 Google Home Assistants. 

 

Really only need the Video Chromecast to show in my case. Any help will be great. Thanks

The problem is that the web app cannot do this. The Chromecast selection dialog is built into the chrome browser. We cannot control what it displays.

Sorry for the late response. Yes, I always use the mobile app on Android. I think it would be cool if there is an option to only show Video Type Chromecast devices.

Is there a reason my account does not have that option? All of the other users do. My account is the main account.

To be honest Chromecast is not supposed to be showing up in that list because again, the web app has no way of enforcing that feature. i will have to look at it. Thanks.

I know this is an old topic, and I am not sure the original question above was answered, but I too am looking for the feature to disable non video casting devices from showing on the Emby android app. I have far too many Google assistant speakers and similar which I don't want listed.  I never cast to audio devices.  Maybe the f

 

Basically I am looking for it to behave the same as the netflix app which only lists chromecast devices.

 

Is this possible?

Well netflix doesn't support audio-only casting, so that's why they do that. Yes we could do that to, but not by default. It would have to be an option in the android app.

Hi, i have around 15 google home speakers and only 3 chromecast. Its a significant problem that the list is bloated. Is there still no way to filter this?

Currently no because in web browsers the list is displayed by Google cast. We have no control over what it shows you.

In the native app this is in theory possible, it's just a can of worms that we'd be opening up by allowing two different apps to display two different lists.
