A quick heads up for anyone thinking of getting Gigabit from Comcast. If you want to use your own modem, make sure they support it. In my area, there're only four that they support. You can check, online.

I currently use the following on Comcast Gigabit in the Portland, OR market, now if they would just use common sense when I try to get Gigabit Pro and not take the long way when doing the fiber analysis...

Another heads up. If you use the Comcast gigabit modem/router, but you want to use your own router, the comcast router needs to be in bridge mode......and they have to do it! You have to call them. The end user doesn't have that option, locally.

For interested parties. Comcast are giving gigabit away at an introductory price of $50/month. That's $110 less than the listed price.
