Movie Theme Songs Plugin Questions and Support Thread

Hello Radeon,

 

It took a while, but after several synchronizations it worked. Now I have a question about the interaction of Movie theme songs and movie theme videos.

 

How can you set on Apple mobile devices, that always the MP3 file is played. Background videos do not run on this platform.

 

Is there generally the possibility to choose whether to run the Mp3 or the video?

Sounds like you may have hit the server a few times too many in a short space. It load balances if people hit too hard so that may have been why it took a while. Apologies for the delay in replying again, been away on business for a few days. 

 

As for you other question, that's really for the clients thread. My plugins are a metadata provider and nothing else so they have no control over playback.

Any news about when will the Radeon utilities work again after after it stopped with last Emby server updates?

Unless I'm mistaken, they should still be working with the current release version of emby. They won't work with the new dev versions and possibly beta though. I don't ever support anything other than release.

 

There will be a new plugin which supports the new core server though. With more features surrounding moderation and more control.

This is what we’re looking for Radeon! Your old plugin is not working with the .Net core version unfortunately....

Sorry Radeon but with the latest official versions (3.2.36.0) has not worked for some time. With the dev server versions they do not even appears in the catalog.

I'd expect they're not not going to appear in any dev version as its running on core.

if you install stable from the website you get .net core, but if you're on .net framework, then you continue to get updates through .net framework. this will change soon though.

Can’t wait to see your plugins coming back in the .Net Core version of Emby server ;-) if you can at the same time improve them to avoid the crap, it will be great too :-)

Unfortunately this isn't a minor compatibility fix with little involved to fix. Some of the key authentication and download/upload functions have to be completely rewritten as the new .net core version of emby server is essentially a different piece of software under the hood.

 

If you want use of the current plugins at the minute then I'd suggest you install the original .net framework version of emby server, that's assuming it's available. I know I'm running The current release issued via The auto updates and they work fine. The new themes plugin will exclusively support .net core and the features won't be brought to the .net framework version of the plugins as they will make the .net framework version defunct at some point in the future.

 

I have a co dev working on the theme plugin with me but it will be a new plugin which will incorporate all 4 into one with the added functionality. The upgrade path is yet to be finalised but will likely be dependant on age of existing licence/s.

Radeon, when you say "I'd suggest you install the original .net framework version of emby server", I guess you should install an earlier version of Emby, which would be the last version you did not use. Net core?

great but I can moderate the thread myself and it doesn't really help when we're trying to communicate.
