I am also seeing the above error download movie theme songs.  I am running a Emby on a Windows 11 PC with meh movies located on a NAS

To verify the issue I did a clean install of emby directly on my NAS and added a folder with only 2 movies. Same issue. One download was working, the other one generated the same error message "Error downloading file from host".

Try turning off your audio normalisation in the plugin settings. 

Looks to me like your normalised file is being removed by something or perhaps it's failing but not feeding back it's failing. 

The normalised setting is less important these days as the majority of files have been normalised server side

Just tried it. The error is gone but in the target directory a file called "theme.x-matroska" is generated which is unplayable.

rejame the file to mkv for now and I'm sure I'll work. I'm taking some well required time out.

I purchased the Emby Theme Media Full Price plugin years ago.

On reinstalling on a new server I noticed that the plugins weren't listed.

I was happy to repurchased for the cost of a couple of coffees.

I didn't realise that I needed to use the same email as my Premier License. 

How do I go about pairing the Premier License to the Emby Theme Media Full Price?

As a fan of all your plugins from the very start - in fact your plugin enhancement was a huge selling point for me when switching from Plex back when Emby still was on v3 - have all my love and condolences @radeon.

As I was working on my server via the web page guess what?

The Themes are listed in the Plugins General section.

As I mainly use my phone/tablet I missed them as they aren't listed on mobile devices.

Oh well.

Stupid question from a newbie

If i purchase the "Emby TV Theme Videos, Movie Theme Videos, Tv Theme Songs and Movie Theme Songs " and install these plugins will they auto download the theme songs and everything and I just rescan the library and they play?

Or is there manual work involved? I'm looking for full automation and for it to play in browser, TV apps and mobile apps and not sure if this has that feature

Just set a time in Scheduled Tasks.

Wow sounds cool, i'll be purchasing ASAP if thats the case

 

noticed this "The Movie Theme Songs Plugin will download Movie Theme Songs where available to your local media library in the correct format and location required by the MediaBrowser 3 Server"

 

So do i need to install this Media Browser as well? And if i'm using Roku TV app or iOS emby app is the music going to play? Or i have to use this Media Browser

Hi.  No, that is the very old original name of Emby.

Also, please note that video themes are not supported on Roku or Apple TV at this time.  Theme music should work.

One question i dont see in the FAQ is how to adjust the volume? When playing the video or song theme it is quite loud

Hi, most Emby apps have theme song volume in their settings.

yes , I tried it on my RokTV and didn’t work. It works on Microsoft Edge on my laptop. Doesn’t work in Safari on my iPhone. Only plays the audio from the video file on Emby iOS app.

but it also doesn’t work in both my Google TV Android TVs, no video or audio from the video. Is the Google TV Android TVs not supported?

You need to install the standard Android app on those devices for theme video support.

I have been following this thread as running into issue with both the movie and tv theme plugins not downloading theme song.  I followed steps to disable Enable Audio Normalisation so that the plugin downloads the file theme.x-matroska and them rename the ext to mkv.  However, it seems the plugin is downloading a large file, about 400mb and over in size and when I check how long the files is the file is over an hour long, which is way too long for a audio theme file.  Normally the theme sizes are about 2 to 3 meg and are mp3 files and only lasts about 2 to 3 minutes.  This happened on the movie American Underdog so I had to stop the task running.

That's why I disabled the plugin until the bug is fixed.

New release up which handles the MKA file format, limits the file sizes and excludes any other strange formats. I've removed any rogue massive themes from the host so you should be set. Thanks for the understanding and patience in waiting for me to return.

I just did a clean install of plugin version 1.8.3.0 and did some tests. For one test movie file I've created, it was generating a 51MB theme.mka file.

Ah, I've slipped up here. I need to re index the hosted files as I have removed loads of the massive ones server side so it'll think they're available when they're not
