Display Mirroring And Server Restarting

I have been slowing rolling out Emby as my media platform for all of my clients. I've run across a couple of items that I couldn't find the answer to so I thought I would ask the community.

  1. Display Mirroring - I seem to remember being able to select one of my clients from the dashboard and click on one of the clients currently watching a movie, it would then show up in the now playing window and I would be able to watch along. I recently tried that with a appleTV and a Emby theater client and it didn't work for either. I could control the output (stop, start, pause, play, etc...), but my now playing screen would always be blank with no videw windows ( the backdrop and transport controls are present, just no video). Am I missing something
  2. I have setup my server to use the service as described in the wiki. I have setup a schedule task to restart the service about once a week, but would rather have a way of querying if the server is in a "needs to be restarted" state and act on that rather than just restarting the service at a scheduled time. IS there a scriptable way (json type calls are fine) to get this information.

Thanks in advance for any help you are able to give.

Hi, for #1, that's not what display mirroring does. What it does is as you browse around and view media on your mobile device, it will pull up the same content on the app you're controlling. That's assuming no video is playing of course.

For #2, you can get this information from the Emby api:
