SecureChannelFailure on FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE-p8

Hello,

I am new to emby because of this thread:

https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/emby-instead-of-plex.63163/

FreeBSD is my preferred OS and generally speaking emby has been running as expected.

Recently the "SecureChannelFailure" error message has been popping up.  I read the synology thread where mono should be 4.8.1+ so I updated my BSD box:

root@emby:/ # pkg info | grep mono
emby-server-3.2.60.0           Home media server built using mono and other open source technologies
mono-4.8.1.0_2                 Open source implementation of .NET Development Framework

without success.

Check for application updates failed.

Error: SecureChannelFailure (The authentication or decryption has failed.)

I also read where mono has been abandoned for emby is that correct?  If so, it does not appear that the port maintainer(s) got the memo:

https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-ports/tree/master/multimedia/emby-server

I'm not complaining just trying make sure I understand what is in play.

Is there another work around for the securechannelfailure error?

Thanks!

Understood on TLS requirements.

Honestly, it is a non-issue as the pkg maintainers are behind the in the rev level anyway.

I am more interested in the mono vs non-mono comments.  (not FreeNAS .. I dont know if that makes a difference or not)  Does the non-mono apply to the FreeBSD version?

We don't yet have support for building managed code on FreeBSD, so you'll need a Windows machine with clones of both the CoreCLR and CoreFX projects.

dude.

That's fine, it won't bother us.
