TheCaptain 11 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Almost every time a new TV episode is added to my library i have to reboot the server (just MB server, not the computer) in order to open MBC without it crashing. When i try to open MBC i get the "Invalid Application" error. If i am already in MBC when the new episode comes in and i navigate to the folder it shows "no episodes found" or something similar. Then if i go back to the EHS screen, MBC will crash. This happens on multiple client computers. A server reboot immediately fixes the problem, until another episode is downloaded.. This is only happening with TV episodes, it does not happen when movies come in. Server: Windows 8.1 Version 3.0.5188.21314 Clients: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows XP Version 3.0.140.0 Server Log
TheCaptain 11 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Chocolate But i don't believe it is the theme causing the issue since when i go into the dashboard and go to edit metadata and choose that TV series folder i also get an error, something like "Value cannot be null" Edited March 20, 2014 by TheCaptain
ebr 16177 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Ultimately there is some sort of resolution or metadata problem with your content, but MBC shouldn't crash because of it. Can you please use the instructions in how to report a problem and post the windows event log error? Thx.
TheCaptain 11 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Can you please use the instructions in how to report a problem and post the windows event log error? Thx. From the server or the client machine? EDIT: I'm assuming client, but there are no errors in the event log for over 5 months. EDIT 2: I did notice that this did not seem to be happening to a couple of TV series that just came out this year, so i went back and deleted all metadata/images from all my older series and tried to force an error by re-downloading a few episodes. I can't make the error come back manually. I will check later after my system automatically downloads tonight's TV. Edited March 20, 2014 by TheCaptain
Daithi 3 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 FYI While I didn't experience any crashes, the missing episode issue and workaround of rebooting server sound similar to my problem Here's another example.

Yes, that is exactly the same error i got from the Web view. And the same symptoms inside MBC. After removing all old metadata/images yesterday, mine seems to be working fine now. My system downloaded several new episodes last night and everything worked as expected. Hopefully it stays that way. What i did was delete EVERYTHING in each TV series folder, except the video files, then went into the metadata manager and individually refreshed each series. Hope this helps.
