HTPCity_Planner 13 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Very happy to see DLNA device support. How do I actually play a movie to the DLNA device though?
AdrianW 1058 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) One way is via the server's web interface. Browse to the movie you want to play, then instead of clicking "Play", click "Remote", select your device and click play. Other clients like the iOS app have the same functionality. HTPCity_Planner 13 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 I have a Sony SMP-200 that is a DLNA device. I can see the device in MBS, however, when I try to connect to it, I get a 500 Server Error. I can actually see my HTPC on the device as well, however, I can't seem to get the two to connect. Another issue I've had with this device is that is doesn't seem to like to read .MKV files, which format most of my library is in, even though it says right on the device it can read them. At a loss.
Jasoon 9 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Have you had any joy in getting it to work? I get the 500 Server Error when I try and play using my onkyo amp...

No, not with MBC. But I am able to use the app called Homestream to upload the contents of my HTPC onto my Sony Media Player. It's a very crude interface, but it works for the time being. I'm going to keep giving it a try with MBC though as I like the look of it much better than what Im getting now.
