Safe place to add code

Is there any safe places to add javascript / html that won't be overwritten by updates? I want to add some keyboard shortcuts.

For a browser?

 

Try TamperMonkey (Chrome) or GreaseMonkey (firefox).

 

I use TamperMonkey for a ton of sites for JS stuff... works great and will work until your selectors or whatever conditions completely change on the page(s).

 

If you just want CSS tweaks, I've been using Stylish for Chrome but you can do that in either monkey add-on of course... just quicker when all you need is CSS tweaks.
