Mediabrowser 3 client app

Hi all

I'm using App version 1.0.31

My problem is I can not connect to my server using App

I can connect if I use webbrowser

When I launch app it it can see my server it says connected in blue.

But when I click server it says could not connect to library.

 

Hope someone can help

Can anyone help im not able to us with chromecast, webbrowser does not support cast feature.

I thought with it been a paid app you would get some support

While I don't know anything about the Android app itself as I've never used it, it sounds like your server is preventing the app from connecting to it. Check to make sure you don't have any firewalls or antivirus programs blocking it.

Hi thanks for reply

My server is setup DMZ on my router so it will let anything through

If I enter http://####.zapto.org:8096/mediabrowser/dashboard/dashboard.html I connect to server I just can not connect using app

Are you trying to use that address from inside your home on wifi, or outside your home on cellular?

Hi Redshift

I can not use either wifi or 3g
But if I go through Web browser it connects to server

If the server is running on windows 7 I'd make sure both ports are open on the firewall. Not just 8096.

 

If your testing over WiFi. Just for simplicity make sure it works, or not, just using the servers IP address. Don't add DNS name resolution to the picture just yet.

I tried what you suggested but to no joy still would not connect.

So I decided to uninstall server software and reinstall all is well now, just got to add all sources again.

Glad you got that sorted. I'll probably break this again, in a good way, when I get to adding support for transitioning from WiFi->cellular and vice-versa.
