chipper 1 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I've been tinkering with creating .SRT files for some foreign films (I think i got the hang of it). I noticed that all of my movies in MB3 have a subtitle listed as und. Does anyone know what that is? Here's a copy of what it shows from the webpage of a movie. I don't see MOV_TEXT listed in the folder directory. Thanks for any guidance. Subtitle:und • MOV_TEXT
Tikuf 663 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Name you subs moviename.en.srt and you will get lang defined There may be an error in the way you are creating them to get MOV_TEXT as the type Note the punctuation in the time stamps it is important 1 00:01:57,702 --> 00:02:00,830 What should I do with this, Your Excellency? 2 00:02:00,914 --> 00:02:02,165 Yes. 3 00:02:02,248 --> 00:02:04,918 I picked it out for Daria Alexandrovna and the children.
chipper 1 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 The und MOV_TEXT shows on all movies (even those without subtitles). Am I doing something wrong? For movies with subtitles, I see: Subtitle:und • MOV_TEXT Subtitle:eng • SRT • External
Tikuf 663 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 The mov_text may be part of your mp4 or mkv file
chipper 1 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 Thanks, that might be. I used Handbrake to rip them from MKV to H264, but never selected any subtitles. Thanks.
MndWrp 101 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 i recently came up with the same issue within media browser .. in my case, as far as i can tell the "und Mov_Text" subtitle is actually the chapter list that handbrake creates ... is there a way for media browser to simply ignore this specific list ?
MndWrp 101 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 could it be a preference somewhere logical .. something like " ignore all undetermined tracks" ? ...this is turning into a feature request
hahacharade 0 Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 (edited) Did anyone ever come up with a fix for this? Just curious. I have SRTs for all my mp4s... But, like the above user, I ended up with und Mov_Text as an option, and my SRT as an option. When I click the SRT in Media Player, nothing happens. It just spins and won't move off und Mov_Text. I can preview the SRTs from Open Subtitles, or put my own in the library folder, but I can never get them to show up or stay as a choice. Edited August 7, 2015 by hahacharade
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) Do you have chapters in your mp4? If there are chapters in the mp4 they get listed as subtitles. Edited August 8, 2015 by Happy2Play 1
Luke 42078 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Thanks, I didn't know mov_text would get wrongly classified as subtitles. that will be fixed for the next release. 1
hahacharade 0 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Nice, hopefully that fixes the problem next release. And yes, I do preserve chapters. Thanks guys.
