Wheemer 50 Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Local client connecting through chrome and no video is displayed, only audio. Tried many different sources. This is using direct play. I'm running the latest beta of Emby Server. Any help would be great, this might have stopped working after the latest update or two.

Wheemer 50 Posted March 10, 2018 Author Posted March 10, 2018 It is because the video are being transcoded when I do not want that to happen. When I edit the user to disable transcoding it will not play audio but the video plays fine. I do not believe it was transcoding anything before when it was working. Why is it transcoding direct streams? I have users using emby right now so I will submit a log later when the server is not in use. But the problem seems that it should not be transcoding anything when playback is local through windows 10 chrome clients.

Wheemer 50 Posted March 11, 2018 Author Posted March 11, 2018 OK so firefox is out, so why is it that it needs to be transcoded to playback in Chrome, my original problem? My Emby server is running on not the best hardware and since I am only streaming locally with direct play, I had assumed it should be able to play without any transcoding. Which is how I thought it had been working fine for a long time, until recently.
