kjp4756 41 Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 The other day I noticed my android 4.4 box running emby 2.3.62 wasn't updating with new shows that I've added. I did the usual db reset in hopes it would fix it. After the initial sync had finished none of the new shows were there. I then cleared all of the app data for kodi 16 and set up kodi from scratch. I installed emby 2.3.62 from github. Now when doing the initial sync it fails with an error about library sync thread has exited. For some reason I cannot view or get any log files. I installed the kodi log file uploaded and it errors out with the log being over 1MB in size; I do not have debug logging enabled. I then installed a log file viewer app that is also in the kodi repo and it errors out immediately telling me to check the logs. I opened my android file manager and looked all over /sdcard/Android and there aren't any logs. Is emby for kodi 2.3.62 simply not supported with the newest stable emby server anymore? Right now I'm guessing I'll need to just buy a newer box and run kodi 17.
Angelblue05 4132 Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 (edited) No, 2.3.62 should still work with 16 and the server apart from a display issue regarding playback progress. I'd need the logs to be able to help. Something else must be causing the error. Try restarting Kodi for a fresh log and recreate the issue. Kodi debug should be disabled and Emby for kodi log should be set to info. Try uploading the log, hopefully it works this time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 9, 2018 by Angelblue05
Solution kjp4756 41 Posted March 9, 2018 Author Solution Posted March 9, 2018 Got emby for kodi working. I had to completely uninstall kodi, reboot the box, then reinstall kodi. I then installed emby for kodi and noticed it pulled in a package called "requests". This didn't happen on my previous attempts so that could've been the problem all along. 1
