khodges747 55 Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Hi guys, The new version of ET (2.9.7) has a weird bug. Some keyboard inputs from a PC (or a remote programmed to send keyboard inputs) have no effect. In particular, Alt-F4, which should shutdown the app which has focus on a Windows PC, does not always work on ET. Here's what I've observed so far: When I open the app to the home screen (which is Folder view on my setup) and the 1st folder is selected (green box) the Alt-F4 combo has no effect. Moving the selection to another folder doesn't help, but deselecting everything by clicking on a blank area then allows the app to see the Alt-F4 combo and shut down normally. This happens in Auto mode (and BTW, I can't change that setting any longer). This is only a problem because my Harmony remote uses the Alt-F4 combo to shutdown ET. Without that, I have to do it with the mouse. Here's a server log, just in case that helps. server-63656064000.txt
serpi 82 Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 (edited) This is only a problem because my Harmony remote uses the Alt-F4 combo to shutdown ET. Without that, I have to do it with the mouse. Well, I'm going to the top right corner (with the icon of the user), select it and then select Exit with my Harmony remote to exit ET... You even could create a macro for this (I did this to log out the current user with one RIGHT less): HOME - UP - UP - RIGHT - SELECT - RIGHT - RIGHT - RIGHT - RIGHT - SELECT (maybe with a short 1 second delay after HOME and first SELECT). Works for me with ET in TV mode, no need to use a mouse. Ciao, Alfred Edited March 10, 2018 by serpi
