Problem with transcoding to my Viera

Hi,

every file not being transcoded to my Panasonic Viera 42AS520_Series.

 

This attempt of today was made with a H264+DTS AC3 file. I have problems with all files. All files play on tablets (and on browsers)

 

The error I get is "spinning wheel" then garbled image (looks like umproper video decoding, and no audio)

"everty file not being transcoded" implies you want them to be transcoded, which they are based on the fact a transcode log exists.  What does your DLNA profile look like for the Viera?

I am not able to play files, not directplay nor transcode.

Simply I do not know what is server trying to do.

 

I see this "/var/lib/emby/config/dlna/system/Panasonic Viera.xml" but I do not know if server is getting correctly tv/model

I havent the slightest idea of what it is doing.

It "spins the wheel" then produces "green artifacts" on screens

 

I would like better to direct play, so server cpu does not suffer. But I would be happy to se even a choppy attempt of transcoded playback

 

Actually my library is directplayed from other server a QNAP TS212 DLNA, straight onto TV, which accepts them.

 

File are arranged more or less in mkv with these caracteristics:

I'm guessing the QNAP dlna server is probably not transcoding them, right?

Hi,
Yes as you say QNAP doesnt event think of transcoding ad all the work is done client side.

The library is pre-worked (Handbrake) with simplest A/V codecs mainly h264 AAC.

No h265 DivX mp3 DTS at all. Complex or compressed codex play only on muscular cliente eg modern tablets or cellphones, not on TV

 

If I keep things simplex, TV does not refuse to play.

I can get even [competitor media server], with transcoding set to off, to play on TV.

 

My preferred Handbrake profile is H.264 video (up to 720p30) and AAC stereo audio (bitrate 160), quality RF18 Fast, MKV container

Ok, our Panasonic profile is designed for older Panasonics I think, so that's probably why it is transcoding.

You need my help troubleshooting? Do I have to attempt rewrite of user agent? You want to have a look QNAP useragent?

Try editing the Identification values of the panasonic profile to something. this way the profile won't be used and it should use the default profile. see if that helps. thanks.
