jasonmcroy 316 Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Right now The Flash is recording and I noticed that it is coming through as the 1990 version, not the 2014. @@cybergrimes - I did what you mentioned earlier in this thread where you added the zap2it id to S.W.A.T. but with the ID for The Flash. I noticed when I went to enter it over on tvdb there was no entry for The Flash (2014) at all. Is this all I would need to do for Emby to pull the correct item in the future?

jasonmcroy 316 Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Yes I would think I checked & added for all my series earlier today so I wouldn't be fixing them piecemeal That makes sense. I did look up one other that I usually have trouble with which is Bull (2016) but I saw the ID was already there for that one. I may take some time tomorrow to lookup my other shows just in case. Thanks for bringing this up by the way!
jasonmcroy 316 Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Well, it looks like we have another winner! The TV show I mentioned above (Bull) is currently recording. It created the correct folder premiere year of 2016! Poster looks correct as it's recording. This was another one of those shows that just confuses the metadata scraper due to other ones of the same name. Thanks @@Luke for really trying to listen to and help your users when you can. Luke 42078 Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 So it's all good? What happens if you record to an existing series without the year in the folder? I didn't test that. I'm guessing it will make a new folder, but if we can match up the IDs then we should use the existing one.

I'm guessing it will make a new folder, but if we can match up the IDs then we should use the existing one. I would guess it would make a new folder as well. All of my folders have the year appended because of the workaround I was using with MCEBuddy before. In order to test this new Beta I merged my Emby DVR folder with my existing TV Series folder and now just use the one folder to hold everything. I am a little OCD with the tidiness of my TV Shows. lol However, I can set up the scenario with a folder that doesn't have the year and record something now and see what happens.
jasonmcroy 316 Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 @@Luke - I can confirm the behavior you suspected - If you have an existing folder with a recording in it that doesn't already have the year appended and you then record the next show it will create a new folder with the year appended.

Luke 42078 Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 It probably got the year afterwards with an internet metadata refresh. Before it records, check the program detail screen and see if there is a year on it.

That is a problem when movies are resurrected for Ex. The Day The Earth Stood still. I will use MCEBUDDY to rename them with the year. Edited March 19, 2018 by nyplayer 1

Oh ok same problem as TV series had prior to this thread, makes sense. Luke did you see my screenshot with example right out of my Schedules Direct data feed where the year is present? Directory created without year upon recording and no year is visible when viewing live TV guide screens Edited March 19, 2018 by cybergrimes
nyplayer 90 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 I noticed my movies have the Year now and there is more data in the NFO .. looking good.
cybergrimes 93 Posted April 6, 2018 Author Posted April 6, 2018 Movie subject is probably a bit off topic from this thread but since we were already discussing... the movies year seems to be hit or miss? Yesterday I had recorded a movie and year was placed in file/directory naming but today a movie did not. I checked SD data feed & confirmed year is present yet Pieces of April was saved as 'Pieces of April 2018_04_06_10_00_00' SD clearly has data of '<year>2003</year>'
Luke 42078 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 It might depend on where in the data it is as I've seen multiple places where a year is used.
