Concerts tab in Kodi not showing correct data

Recommended Posts

When manually adding concert videos to kodi’s “Concert“ skin tab, I would be able to select the correct directory to connect to. But once I save it and click on the “Concert“ tab in the main menu, it would first show me a pre-page displaying different Emby actions to select from. It would show the open concert link, but also latest, etc. I just want all the concerts to show without emby showing me additional options to click. As I have selected the correct folder to display, it must be something with the emby link that is additionally generated.

It seems emby adds an additional page with options even though not selected by the user. Can this be fixed please? I can make a screenshot if its not clear what I am referring to. Thanks

Yeah provide screenshots as I'm not sure what you are referring to, thank you.

@Angelblue05

Here are the shots and description.

First I go to skin settings and select the correct emby library that needs to be mapped to the right menu item. In this case, I select "Video Library > Emby > Concerts". When selecting Concerts the link value is automatically added to the "Default select action" setting. So no deeper mapping can be done. selecting concerts is the deepest that can be selected:

When I go back to the main menu and click on the menu "Concerts":

I get the following page:

As you can see I don't get the concerts to be displayed only an additional menu with options. (Note: these options are not even relevant to the concert section)

So I have to click additionally on the emby link concerts to get to the correct page, which would be this:

The above screenshot is the page I like to see when clicking on "Concerts" in the main menu. (Same as if I would click on movies or Tv shows)

Hope this helps identifying the issue.

Thanks

When you set the shortcut, are you not able to select Concerts that is one level deeper? Video add-ons > emby > concerts > concerts.

Hi,

No, their is no deeper layer.

Keep in mind that emby does not have a "Concert" content type in the emby library.

There should be. If you launch the emby add-on, you should see Concerts that should show you shortcuts for Concerts content (movie library). You should see another Concerts within Concerts, which is where you want to point your home screen shortcut to.

Can you confirm? Thanks.

The issue I believe is that you are pointing your shortcut to video library > emby > concerts, when you should point it to video add-ons > emby > concerts > concerts.

Hi, yes, that worked, little confusing though.

Anyway, this brings up additional issues.

1. When displaying the concerts. They can only be shown as "icons or list" views and because of this limitation the concert images are cropped and cut of to make them show as squares. This was not the problem before. This impacts the user experience. can you let me know how to make it display the images again in a proper view as ì only have list or icon view to select from.

2. When selecting a concert to play it will not play until I press it again and than it starts playing. Tried this with different concerts all the same behaviour.

3. When stopping a concert, the play screen disappears and a strange page is shown each time, and different from the original concert page view. see below screenshot.

You might need to edit the shortcut action. It should say ActivateWindow(Video, path...)

Kodi, for reason unknown, defaults to music. So the listing shows up like that. Changing the shortcut from ActivateWindow(Music,...) to ActivateWindow(Video,...) should do the trick.

The problem is that you can't edit that field. Its a select field only. When I select the original path I had before, video was shown, but when I select the video add-ons > emby > concerts > concerts. path it will automatically be changed to music. Why does selecting the path through the add-ons path changes it to music? Anyway to fix this on either user to programmer side?

I know our shotcuts via videos is one level too deep. But for the add-on paths, I couldn't tell you. I'll have to check, thank you.
