Spaceboy 2573 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Hi, its been 6 months or so since the ability to change audio tracks and add subtitles to live tv streams in clients (other than the web app) was removed. I'm not sure why it was removed, by the time it was removed both were working well. There also doesnt seem to be any indication of when the functionality might return. Removing this functionality has left me unable to use any external service, either by a plugin or an m3u. Despite having a preferred audio track set for the user Emby ignores this and picks the default track, which is not the one that i want. I am then unable to add subtitles. Please can you restore this core function immediately. 3
Luke 42078 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 It's there for the built in live tv but i need to add it back selectively for plugins, giving them the ability to opt into it. We first have to be able to probe the streams, and with one of the plugins in particular it just always seems to cause problems.

It's not that easy because if we don't have media info then we can't select a track. It is there for m3u but there are new features in the web app that still need to be added to other apps. However, there are some situations where it is not available for m3u, such as for example if you need to enable the stream looping setting.

And no I’m not using the stream loop setting so you still think this should be working for me and it’s not. Using the m3u in vlc I can get both audio channels and subs, in Emby it works in the web app, but nowhere else
Guest asrequested Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 I just noticed this returned in Theater. NICE!

Spaceboy 2573 Posted March 10, 2018 Author Posted March 10, 2018 I’m sorry, that answer isn’t good enough. A- it worked before. B- I have no problem with manually changing the track once it’s started but that’s not possible when you hide the option 1

B- I have no problem with manually changing the track once it’s started but that’s not possible when you hide the option It worked before because we probed every live stream before starting it. But then everyone complained about start up time so we stopped doing that which then meant that things needed to be re-designed and re-implemented in both the server and all apps. Try the new audio selection in the Android TV app beta. 1
