Menissalt 17 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 (edited) Emby opens but won't load after the latest update. I have to force close the app if I want to close it. I tried restarting, then restarting and running then downloading and running the installer, neither worked. I've attached the relevant log. server-63655255041.txt Edited February 26, 2018 by Menissalt
Luke 42079 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Hi, what exactly are you having to force close? the server, or another emby app?
ebr 16184 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Hi. Looks like you have at least one really old plug-in you need to get out of your plug-ins folder and then a permissions problem: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '\\YOHO\2. Complete\Transfer\TV' is denied.

Embyserver and two instances of embytray Hi. Looks like you have at least one really old plug-in you need to get out of your plug-ins folder and then a permissions problem: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '\\YOHO\2. Complete\Transfer\TV' is denied. I've made sure that access to this path is open, it's just for importing media, and to remove old plugins from "...\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\plugins" and attached a new log here server-63655256255.txt Edited February 26, 2018 by Menissalt
Luke 42079 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 What problem did you experience that led you to doing that?
Menissalt 17 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 What problem did you experience that led you to doing that? Emby is open in the tool tray but the web page won't load and right clicking to close from the tray doesn't work. Everything was working just prior to the update. I've also run the beta installer since my OP for further troubleshooting.
Luke 42079 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Try going into this folder: C:\Users\RivoTech\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\plugins And deleting all of the plugin dll files except for backup and trailers. please let us know if this helps. thanks.

Luke 42079 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 This log looks perfectly clean. Are you sure you're putting the right address into your browser address bar?
Menissalt 17 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 I am, even using localhost won't load. You can see in the log where the ping fails too. Nothing has changed other than installing the update.
Luke 42079 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 I do notice it's not receiving any traffic, yes. Try this. Try going to windows services, and if there is an entry for Emby, set it to disabled. Then reboot your system and try running the server from the windows start menu. thanks.

Should have mentioned that I already did that in the OP, I forgot to Edited February 26, 2018 by Menissalt
Menissalt 17 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 I set the Emby service to disabled in the services list, it was already set to manual because I don't like running it as a service. I have also tried removing Emby from startup and then manually starting the service instead of the exe to no avail.
Luke 42079 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 I wonder if windows is trapping the traffic at the socket level. Can you try starting the server with admin rights?
Menissalt 17 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 (edited) With admin no change, dropped the firewall to be safe and still no luck.Forgot log, attatched server-63655260532.txt Edited February 26, 2018 by Menissalt
Menissalt 17 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 (edited) making a backup, I think I'm going to uninstall and start over then restore to see if I can get back up Attempt 1: Uninstalled and removed all traces from appdata then reinstalledUnsuccessful, was not expecting this. Attempt 2:Running Revo Uninstaller to pick emby clean out of my system, rebooting, then reinstalling UnsucessfulOK, I'm really stumped here. Nothing shows as being wrong in the log but it won't load, the browser is trying to connect until I close out of Emby. I can't just right click < close either, I have to force quite through task manager. Log after most recent installed attached. server-63655262922.txt Edited February 26, 2018 by Menissalt
Menissalt 17 Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 I've done a system restore to before some windows updates to make sure they weren't an issue, no luck. Even the portable version is giving me the same issues (with the installed versions removed).
Luke 42079 Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 You could try editing the server config file to use a different port.
Menissalt 17 Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Originally it was on port 452 and then after the uninstall/reinstall went to the default port but I can try changing it to something else.
Luke 42079 Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 You could also try using the portable install from an alternative folder location.
Menissalt 17 Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 None of these steps worked. Since this is the only thing I use this computer for I'm going to re-image.
