Help for DLNA

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Please, I would need help on how DLNA works because it is a bit confusing to me.

I enabled the server "Enable DNLA play" but when I click on settings nothing appears.
In Dashboard there are 3 connections for WDTVLive, TV Salon and the PC Mediacenter itself appears (The TV is a Samsung latest generation).
I would need to install something else for DLNA work?

I attach the server log:

You need another client to browse and select the dlna client you want to stream to. In the case of the web client, there is a remote icon next to the play icon on the details page.

Those commands doesn't work on dlna devices.

What you want to do is to look up a movie in the webclient that you want to watch.

Instead of clicking on "Play" you click "Remote" and select your playback target.

7Illusions, Or I am doing something wrong or DLNA does not work for me.
I'm playing a movie on TV and in the WD TV Live and the "play" is missing.

You're looking in the wrong place. ;)

Step-by-Step tutorial from the screenshot you posted.

1. Close remote window, that is only used to control a already started playback.

2. Click the Movies text in upper left corner.

3. Select the first movie that shows.

4. If no buttons are visible, scroll down a little bit until you see 3 buttons, "Play", "Remote" and "Edit" next to each other in the center of screen.

5. Click on the center button ("Remote") and select a session to play to.
