notla49285 48 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 I've got the DC television series on my server (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow) and found that some episodes are split into parts, for example: Invasion! Part 1 - Supergirl - S02E08 Part 2 - The Flash - S03E08 Part 3 - Arrow - S05E08 Part 4 - Legends of Tomorrow - S02E07 Obviously as these were being screened on TV they were in date order so could be watched as they were broadcast however when watching back on boxsets - NIGHTMARE!! Has anybody encountered this before? Can anyone suggest how I might link these episodes together somewhere on Emby?
Solution Luke 42085 Posted February 23, 2018 Solution Posted February 23, 2018 How are they named in tvdb? That's what I would do. Then you could use a boxset for the two series. 1

Turns out that TheTVDb has a facility for "specials" whereby episodes are one-offs or out of context for their season, which would help with this situation. Problem is in this specific instance, specials for The Flash haven't all been set up properly and the episodes I've listed above aren't linked I'll have a further look through TheTVDb to see if there's anything I can do.
vaise 340 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 I remember when i came across this - I have not started Supergirl at all. I was working through one of the others, then did not have a clue what was going on. Had to search all the shows for the corresponding episode, and just watch those. Was a pain, but it has only happened twice I think.

notla49285 48 Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 (edited) Update to this - no, there is no facility to handle this on TheTVDB, and specials are not intended for crossovers, they are for linked episodes within a series. Best I can think of is either create playlists for each of the grouped episodes (not used playlists yet, will check it out), or remove the episodes from the series they currently belong to by editing metadata and creating my own series and changing the episode number/ordering manually?
