Hi.  If the movie is properly identified and/or you save metadata with the movie this should not be an issue.

Can you please describe exactly what issue you had?

I have a movie which was in folder one, i add all of the actors info then move the move to folder two and it lost all of the actors names.

Doesnt matter what I do I cant get the list of all of the actors if movie is move

Is there an nfo file with the movie? Then that on and then this will work in the future. Thanks.

This is the reason to use "Save artwork and metadata into media folders" and have the "Metadata savers:" enable per library.  If these are disabled the metadata is saved directly to the database and when the media movies, it has to be re-written.

Yes, if you are going to customize your metadata manually, you do need to save that metadata in a persistent format with the media so that it can survive things like this.

Why are you adding actors manually?  Is this an item that cannot be identified by our metadata providers?

You need to check your settings.  Dashboard-Library-click on each library to see settings, and Dashboard-Library-Metadata-Customize for media type: drop-down for each content type

I get following error.

When I click on change.

Change Content Type
To change the type, please remove and rebuild the library with the new type.

Why are you trying to change your Libraries content type?

Each library has a menu when you click on it.

The Metadata tab has the option Customize for media type for each content type.

Thank you that helped.

Is it possible to save image and metadata into a different folder.

e.g. I have movies in folder 1 but I like to save images and metadata into folder 2

If you don't select "Save artwork and metadata into media folders", the metadata gets saved directly to the database and the images are saved in the metadata\library folder.

Only if "Save artwork and metadata into media folders" is enabled.

Image are saved either with media or in metadata\library folder depending on what settings you have enabled.

Why not remove this outdated information? Spending alot of time coming across outdated information trying to find up-to-date and relevant help with my issue.

Hi, what's your issue? Feel free to create a new topic describing it.

That message is characteristic of a spambot trying to look as if it fits in a thread without reading or understanding it.

I assure you it / I am not a spambot! Because of your incorrect assumption I was banned. FYI, I spend many hours reading through documentation and the community here for information on working with Emby and it's API. I don't always post and ask questions for every little question I may have. As a developer AND as a person who believes in researching for an answer until that is exhausted before asking for help, I've learned numerous other things and take notes along the way.

Hence my comment that 'you' and obviously whomever banned me thought was a spambot.. there is alot of outdated 'fixes', 'methods', 'references to code', etc. that no longer work or no longer valid. There are things that worked YEARS and versions ago that do not work now. So when doing a search and that outdated information is the top numerous results it causes a person who maybe unlike you and other devs who tinker with Emby's code regularly to spend many hours trying to find the CORRECT answer(s), fix, method, etc.

Yes that is true when posting in a topic that is over 4 years old.  9 times out of 10 old topics have nothing to do with today's issue and one should create their own topic.

Also unbanned previous account.

Apologies for the mixup.
