twistedvincent 10 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I do not see a preferences setting or anything else when using Roku Ultra or in the Windows app for settings subtitles during television playback. Can you help?
Luke 42085 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Hi, welcome. By television do you mean live tv?
twistedvincent 10 Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 Sorry, during movie playback on my TV using Emby and Roku Ultra. Plex had been my choice for years and it had the enable subtitles option for each movie and I'm new and kind of lost with Emby. I enabled "download subtitles" in the server but still don't see how to enable them. Many Thanks
ebr 16195 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Hi. In the Roku app, during playback, if you hit the up or down arrow (or pretty much any key) you will get an on-screen display which will have some buttons on it. One of those buttons will look like a little "text bubble" if the item being played has subtitles. Navigate to it and select it and choose the subtitle you want. Additionally, in the settings for the app there are options for you to choose default behavior for all items in relation to subtitles. Does that answer all your questions?
twistedvincent 10 Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) OK, I see. Does Emby have an option to enable HDR playback? I'm not getting it at all. Edited February 22, 2018 by twistedvincent
