Sync/transfer issue

I'm trying to sync some movies to my tablet. There's one movie that just doesn't transfer after conversion. I see the download in progress, it gets so far then just stops. No error, no message. Server just says ready to transfer, and never completes the transfer. I've tried multiple times. The other movies transferred, just fine. I can't post logs right now, but can, later. Just thought I'd throw it out there and see if there is an idea why it won't transfer?

Now I knw what's happening.  The conversion process isn't compressing the file. And my tablet doesn't support files bigger 4GB, so a 30GB file just won't work. I'll play around with it and see what happens. Then I'll post some logs

Setting it to low, worked. And my last attempt from last night, I used a custom bitrate, and I just realized I set it too high. So no compression (my fault). Prior to that, I used medium, and I just think it made the file too big. So I believe it's working as it should.

It would be much better if I could choose the file size to convert it to, or at least have an estimated size of what the file will be. So I don't have to convert it multiple times, to find the right size :)

We need more options. I just discovered it converted my movie from 1080 to 480. That's not acceptable.

Try the high quality setting and that shouldn't happen.

I can't. It makes the file too big to go on my tablet. And I just tried the custom bitrate, again. That's all messed up. I chose 3Mb/s and I got somewhere around 1.7Mb/s. I just can't use this feature. It's far too inconsistent. I have to make sure the files are under 4GB. I'm going to have to convert my movies, manually. This is a huge disappointment. I'm just going to make a list of the movies I want to travel with and make HEVC copies, and I'll have to use VLC to watch them. Damn :(

Just set a custom quality using the bitrate of your choice. Thanks.

Uuuummm...did you read what I said about that? I guess I could use Kentucky windage and aim higher, to get to where I need it to be.

Well, that just isn't going to work, for me. I need to regulate file size. I'll just do it manually, and use VLC to play. I really don't have a choice, unless I want to mash the files to 480p.

Ah yeah I should have done that. My bad. I'll run it tonight and check results/post logs.

Just reporting back. I tried three movies, last night. All with success. I'm thinking that something got a little messed up with the tablet after it updated to Android 7. I reformatted the SD card, and reconfigured. Reinstalled the Emby app, and so far so good.

But it would be much better if I could select file size. As it is, I have to experiment to see if the file is too big. Setting the bitrate isn't enough. A 4 hour movie will obviously be bigger than a 2 hour movie. Allocating file size would would be perfect.
