Karlsson 0 Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Why did you change sorting so that folders are mixed in with files? Folders should be grouped together separate from files. How do we change it back?
Karlsson 0 Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 I see it on app.emby.media for web and in Emby Theater. Also have to choose "Show title" in every subfolder, on app.emby.media, which is a bit annoying.
Karlsson 0 Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 And it's a new "feature" in the latest Android update too. Including "show title". Is there a global setting for that one? Who thought it was good idea to hide the titles on everything and then have the user check a checkbox on every page?
Luke 42078 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Titles are not hidden on everything. They are displayed by default and only hidden if you uncheck the box.
Karlsson 0 Posted February 21, 2018 Author Posted February 21, 2018 Titles are not hidden on everything. They are displayed by default and only hidden if you uncheck the box. No, it's the opposite for me. They are hidden by default and only visible if I check the box. Maybe for everyone else too? Bug? Or some global setting somewhere?
Luke 42078 Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 No they are displayed by default but carry from device to device. So you may have hidden then in one app not realizing it would affect the other.
Karlsson 0 Posted February 21, 2018 Author Posted February 21, 2018 No. How would I even do that, it's a new feature... There are no title for images and movies on "Home Videos & Photos" (only library type I use) and the Show Title are unchecked on EVERYTHING by default. Folders still have the floating title on top of folder which changes to the title under the folder when Show Title is checked.
Luke 42078 Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Ok yes photo albums are the one exception that are titles off by default. So for those you can just turn them on.
Karlsson 0 Posted February 28, 2018 Author Posted February 28, 2018 Ok yes photo albums are the one exception that are titles off by default. So for those you can just turn them on. When you say "photo albums" do you mean "home videos & photos"? Was your intent to have this on all folders under "home videos & photos" or just folders with photos? Since it's under all folders... bug or "feature", please fix. Thanks.
Luke 42078 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Any folder underneath a home videos & photos library that contains a photo is considered a photo album.
Karlsson 0 Posted March 5, 2018 Author Posted March 5, 2018 Any folder underneath a home videos & photos library that contains a photo is considered a photo album. So a folder with hundreds of video clips is a "photo album" because it contains a Default.png or a backdrop.jpg? That's... interesting. I would like to request a global setting for this then, unless you just make home videos behave the same as all the other library types.
Luke 42078 Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 No, not a backdrop.jpg. Local image file names such as that are reserved and won't cause that.
Karlsson 0 Posted March 16, 2018 Author Posted March 16, 2018 No, not a backdrop.jpg. Local image file names such as that are reserved and won't cause that. Wrong. The only images I have in the affected folders are hidden images with names like Default.jpg and Default.png and in some cases a backdrop.png or .jpg...
Luke 42078 Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 We'll make sure it's checking for default.ext for the next release, thanks.
Carlo 4561 Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 This got me too and I didn't change anything. One day I have the titles in "home videos & photos" libraries and then poof gone. I use this library type for all my sporting events. Noticed it right away with the NCAA March Madness files I've been recording, post processing and adding to this library type. Still shows correct in web. 1
Karlsson 0 Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 The "show title" discuessed above doesn't seem to have been fixed in 3.4.0.0..
Luke 42078 Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I would suggest using the view settings to enable the titles. Thanks.
Karlsson 0 Posted May 9, 2018 Author Posted May 9, 2018 I would suggest using the view settings to enable the titles. Thanks. Where do I find that?
Karlsson 0 Posted May 10, 2018 Author Posted May 10, 2018 Click the 3-dot button at the top of the list. Yeah, know about that. Check above. Refering to the whole "We'll make sure it's checking for default.ext for the next release, thanks." or a global setting.
Luke 42078 Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 In a home video library, an image file called default.ext should no longer be showing as a media file in your library. If it still is, can you please give an example? thanks.
One2Go 120 Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 I post here because the folders sorted among files changed after version 3.2 sometime. It used to be that in the Web app a top folder that had folders with individual movies appeared first after the last one individual movies are then displayed in alphabetical order. I read somewhere that this was introduced in a new release but that it would be restored in an upcoming release. Is there a setting somewhere that needs to be set so that when I click on the left side panel on entry folders rather then the library name that I will get for the movies library the displaying of folders with movies before getting a totally alphabetically sorted movie selection? Thanks O2G
