Upcoming change to a channel; what will I need to do?

Hi folks,

Using Emby and a SiliconDust Extend for recording live TV OTA. No TV plugins, just the standard Emby with SchedulesDirect.

I got a note from the local PBS station to rescan channels on Feb 26 because they are upgrading equipment and presumably changing frequencies a bit.

The channel in question is WFYI, which comes in on 20.1, although the "real" channel is 21, not 20, according to HD HomeRun Config GUI.

Any-how...

In the context of Emby I'm actually curious to know which moving pieces may need to be refreshed to accommodate this change.

I'm assuming I just go to the Tuner... either using the "myhdhomerun.com" or by going to it's local IP address, entering the channel lineup page, and doing a Detect Channels scan.  That should refresh the tuner.

But is that all I need to do? Does Emby need to know anything about this? Presumably from a Schedules Direct perspective, there's no change... programs are still on "20.1 WFYI" (I believe) as before.

Please let me know if I should do anything other than a tuner rescan via the HDHomerun software/interface.

Thanks

Marc

Just refresh your guide and you should be fine.

Reporting back, this worked out fine. After whatever changes the station made, I could no longer tune it through Emby, as expected. I did a rescan (channel detection) with the HDHomerun, then for good measure refreshed the guide in Emby, and then I could tune it an my upcoming recordings seem on track.

Thanks for the support.

PS the changes seem to relate to the naming of the various channels on the physical frequency. There were three channels 20.1, 20.2, 20.3 on physical channel 21, and now they are named 3: WFYI 20.1, 4:WFYI 20.2, and 5:WFYI 20.3. Yes the leading 3,4,5 are actually now in the channel listing. Slots 1 and 2 are likely for the two HD radio stations.
