n00b42 41 Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 So, I just added my first audiobook in Emby, using the "Book" library. After playing around with it I found that merging all files in one big mp3 (or other audio format) will allow me easy "resume", even though I loose structural information (e.g. chapters) by doing that. So my file structure looks like: "Books/Author/Title/book.mp3". The MP3 Tags are set for Author and Title as expected, and Album for book series and track number for book series part/number. (even though I find the later unsatisfying so far) No I thought about adding the ebook file as well (for completion), naming it e.g. "book.epub"... But doing so shows the folder/book as not "playable" anymore and does not show the individual files in Emby anymore. (For now I removed the epub again) Is that the expected behavior? Is it possible to have both mp3 and epub but still have it "playable" as audio/ebook? Regards
Luke 42080 Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 depending on folder structure there might currently be an issue. if instead you give each a sub-folder, then it should work just fine.
n00b42 41 Posted December 16, 2018 Author Posted December 16, 2018 Is it possible to resume an audiobook consisting of multiple parts? Or if it is already possible, what is the naming convention to achieve this?
Luke 42080 Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 As of the upcoming 3.6 release, audio books will match the music folder structure. So you can organize an audio book like a music album, and they will just be sorted based on track numbers. 1
Happy2Play 9781 Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 Is it possible to resume an audiobook consisting of multiple parts? Currently no. But it is in the works. 1
n00b42 41 Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 (edited) Is there a possibility to help with that development? Or are there news on audiobook resuming? *** Actually it would help to at least to more easily identify the last "watchted" status? On the web dashboard I can not see the numbers (and the title is the same for the audio book), as well as they are somewhat saved as "partly" watched On the mobile app on my smartphone I can not identify which ones have been watched (here half of them should be already watched): Edited April 3, 2019 by n00b42
Luke 42080 Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 @@n00b42 Yes we do need work here. We will continue to improve audio book features in future releases. Thanks !
n00b42 41 Posted May 16, 2019 Author Posted May 16, 2019 Another small issue: Somehow, all parts of the audiobook starting from track number 301 start playing the audio book from the beginning. Seems to be some maximum/limit. (The audio files themselves are fine)
