aklindeman 0 Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 (edited) I'm unable to detect my Hauppage tuner. It's a Win TV-HVR-2255 (F111). I'm running the latest drivers v 7.9.1.34216. I'm on the version 3.2.70.0 of Emby. Edited February 14, 2018 by aklindeman
Luke 42080 Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Hi, do you have Hauppauge WinTV installed?
Luke 42080 Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Ok, you will need to do that by running the software installation from the hauppauge website: http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support.html Thanks.
Diedrich 377 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 (edited) To whoever may find this in the future: I recently upgraded my hardware and reinstalled/upgraded to Windows 10. I had a ^&*()# of a time getting WinTV 8.5 to see its OWN tuners! I have a WinTV QuadHD. tl;dr If you download the wintv85setup_35290.exe file, you MUST do the following: 1. right-click the setup file, choose Properties and check the box to "Unblock" - at the bottom of the window 2. next, go to the Compatibility tab at the top 3. Check the box to "Run this program as an administrator" Simply checking the box to run as administrator is not enough - your tuner card will be detected by the WinTV application, but Emby will not be able to connect to the api to be able to "see" the tuner card(s). You must "Unblock" the setup program so that all aspects of the program are installed properly. Edited February 26, 2018 by Diedrich 1
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 @@Diedrich thanks for the tip on run as admin that did it for me as well - did not need to do the unblock as i had already moved the fill to a new location i am testing on 2012r2 and thought it was something missing from windows which was stopping the WinTV software from finding the tuners - even though no errors are thrown by the installer - and the drivers install fine and the tuner can be seen in device manager Now to see if i can get emby to see the tuner 1
aklindeman 0 Posted March 7, 2018 Author Posted March 7, 2018 Awesome. Installing WinTV as Admin after checking run as admin under properties worked for me as well. I had installed it without admin rights and it was able to detect the tuner, but not connect to the API. Uninstalling and following these install instructions and both tuners work. Thanks.
