emby server falsely detecting 192.xxx.xxx.xxx address as being in LAN

I just started using Emby and it's an incredible piece of software!

 

Currently I'm trying the Android App and perhaps discovered a bug. When I play a sound file with my phone from the mobile network the server output looks as expected:

If I login to the Wifi I have at work, the server assumes my phone to be in the local network, although clearly 192.44.6.0/24 is not a private address:

I'm running Emby on Ubuntu Server 17.10. The server has 192.168.178.2 as a local IP address and something around 84.xxx.xxx.xxx as public IP (home server behind NAT with port forwarding). I'm running Version 3.2.70.0, installed from the deb-package on the website.

 

I had a quick glance at the code in NetworkManager.cs but couldn't find anything obvious. The check correctly looks for "192.168.xxx.xxx" addresses.

Should I create a bug report at github? I also read this post. Should I try the beta?

Now that's a bit funny. The reason I looked in the log was because I wanted to know why my audio did not get transcoded. I thought this was due to the error that emby assumed the phone to be in the local network, according to this post. But after i logged back into the wifi after the tests I did for the above post, I found emby was still transcoding. That's what the log says now:

It still thinks the phone is in the local etwork, but transcodes nonetheless. Very strange.

The next release of emby server will have additional settings to allow you to configure the lan network.

I ran into a similar problem cause emby probably auto detected my local network as 192.0.0.0 255.0.0.0. It still does in the current release but now with advanced network option im able to manually define my lan as 192.168.0.0/24.

So far i had no time looking closer into it but manually defining the lan adress space "fixed" my issue with easy pin login.

It's generally due to multiple detected interfaces on the machine.
