searching for an easy to use video file repair program

Hi

 

Some files are maybe broken.

I am only able to watch them (sometimes) with VLC, but not able to watch with any of mine emby clients.

 

Any ideas?

try Handbrake to re-encode the files - it fixed the few bad files i had - depending what the error is with your files it may have issues as well

 

vlc is good at ignoring errors

you re encode the whole file - and this creates a new version - either mp4 or mkv - using one of the presets - or roll your own options

Meteorite is by far the easiest media repair tool, but it really only fixes metadata issues.  If the file is corrupted, it usually will make it playable, but data that is out of sync or missing will still remain that way.  Of course, the same occurs with handbrake in such cases.
