Separate DLNA logs from server

Hi,

the calls to description.xml from my network DLNA device are very intense (see attached sample representing 1 second of logs)

It is not an issue but it makes the reading of the other infos very difficult.

Is this amount of calls typical ? does it reduce server performances ?

Would it make sense to separate "/dlna/" calls to a separate log file ? That may be disabled in the Emby DLNA parameters section ?

(One of the devices on my network is a "Freebox" (a very common french ISP/TV gateway), the other an home automation gateway)

I think instead we need to try to learn why the freebox is hamming the server with so many requests to the same url. My guess is that perhaps there's something in our response that it doesn't like but it's hard to say for sure.

Thanks.

There is no log available for the Freebox but for the Home automation gateway i can spot the following error on each call of description.xml  :

sample_util.c(230): Error finding URLBase in XML Node

On the web i can read that URLBase could be an old UPnP tag that maybe deprecated now.

Maybe if you add this as a compatibility tag on the next beta i will tell you if those devices are quieter once we give it to them.

Problem is I'm not sure I want to do that. I'm not sure how that will impact other devices.

If my case is isolated forget about changing anything.

We can try it for one beta and see what happens

Have you tried the latest beta to see if there's any difference?

Thanks a lot.

My server is now on 3.2.70.13 Beta.

When i look to the home automation gateway log i can see that it does not complain any more about URLBase (See capture)

But there is still a lot of calls to description.xml (See 1 second extract log)

I disabled DLNA servers as a test on day, it's difficult to see any changes in performances, so it seems that the only drawback for that is the density of the logs.

Yea i'm sure there's a reason for this i'm just not sure what it is at this point.
